Olivia Thompson

                       BSc. Hons Chiropractic

Olivia is originally from Henley-on-Thames where she grew up enjoying the river as a member of Henley Rowing Club (hence the name Thames Chiropractic). Following a back injury during winter training Olivia was introduced to a number of physical therapies which sparked an interest in McTimoney Chiropractic specifically as it was this that helped her on her road to recovery.
Olivia enjoys treating a wide range of patients from babies and free range children to office bound adults through to the more gently moving pregnant patients and the elderly. Each presents different challenges. All are welcome.
McTimoney Chiropractic is a non-invasive treatment, assessing the whole body and treating what's found.  There are many McTimoney adjustments all of which rely on especially fast, yet tiny movements that do not create the 'cracking' often associated with chiropractic. The adjustments made are fast, precise, accurate and of low force making it a comfortable treatment to receive. This also makes the treatment suitable for people of all stages of life.

Chiropractic treatment focuses on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of biomechanical disorders involving the neuromusculoskeletal system.  It may help back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, knee pain as well as pain, discomfort and stiffness in joints.  Headaches arising from the neck may also be helped and migraine prevention. Other complaints that may benefit from chiropractic treatment include muscular aches, minor sports injuries, arthritic pain and plantar fasciitis among others.
Chiropractic treatment can help to relieve pain and discomfort, increase mobility by restoring optimum function, alignment and movement of the body.

Adjustments are made by Chiropractors using only their highly skilled hands. Olivia is also trained to recommend therapeutic and rehabilitative exercises.
McTimoney Chiropractic is regulated by the General Chiropractic Council.

Olivia is also qualified to perform the Epley manoeuvre for BPPV (Dizziness caused by benign paroxysmal positional vertigo). This is a condition caused by little crystals being in one of the semi-circular canals of your inner ear. The Epley can be performed as a stand alone treatment or in conjunction with chiropractic assessment and treatment.
